How to choose a baby-clothing print: a little tour of Soso Snaps

Sometimes a baby outfit catches your eye because of one small detail: a palm tree, a horse, or an illustration that reminds you of somewhere you love. Before you think about a whole outfit, that detail becomes the starting point.

At Soso & Co., we call our world wearable stories. Between palms, gazelles, horses and pearls, there is more than one story to choose from. If you’re deciding between prints, this little tour will help you look closer and find the one that feels like you.

Start with the illustration that catches your eye

First, think about what you like in a print, beyond its name. Is it the illustration itself, the colours, or the way the pattern repeats across the piece?

If horses have a place in your heart, start with Arabian Grace. If palms are what catch your eye, compare Little Palm with Gazelle in the Palms. In the second, gazelles are part of the story too.

For those drawn to pearls and little reminders of the sea, meet Pearl of the Sea. Coral Pearl and Little Waves complete the tour. Open each design’s images so you can choose by the print itself, as well as its name.

Look at the details, then the whole piece

A closer image lets you notice lines and small illustrations. A view of the whole garment lets you see how the print sits across it.

Try comparing in this order: choose two designs that caught your eye, look at each one’s details, then return to the full view. Ask yourself which one still draws you in after seeing both. You don’t have to decide from the first tiny thumbnail.

If you like a particular colour, look at the rest of the palette too. Your favourite detail might be small, while the background colour gives the whole piece a different feel.

For a gift, begin with the family’s taste

Do you know a colour they love? Or perhaps horses are one of their interests? Those small details can make your choice feel personal, without assuming that every family likes the same style.

If you’re unsure, send two pictures and ask, “Which print feels more like you?” The surprise can still be in the timing or the message that comes with the gift. Every part doesn’t have to be a secret.

Keep the choice of print separate from the choice of size. Finding a design you love is a lovely start; size and product details still need their own check before any purchase.

If you’re choosing a gift, our baby-clothing gift size guide walks through the questions to ask before settling on a size.

Choose your little story

The print doesn’t have to go with everything or belong to a big occasion. A detail you love, or something that makes you say “That feels like us,” is a good place to begin.
